This week I sprained my ankle, forced plenty of rest, applied arnica and ice approx. 400 times, soaked in Epsom Salts, wrote a letter, read This One Summer by Mariko Tamaki & Jillian Tamaki twice, and bleached my hair blonde.

Here I am, sporting a thin veil of patience while I wait for the arrival of Spring. If this waiting game were a visit to the doctor's office, I would not be getting a "GREAT JOB" sticker at the end of my check-up. In a month or so, I'll be knocking pollen out of these old cushions and sharing a sunny spot next to the dozing neighborhood cat. Yes, I can almost hear the tinkling of ice in my Campari...

Also, I cut my hair! I wanted to look like a little German boy. It looks like a mushroom cap / Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber / early Beatles mop.

I now have ruby colored hair. The inspiration for my cut was "Joan of Arc as a Playmobil toy".

Trannnnsforrrmm!

      My once deep emerald green hair has now become an earthy cornhusk green. In it's own weird way looks a bit natural? The color has never looked the same twice.  It's been a little over a month since my initial dye-job and I have a good half-inch of roots now. I usually wash my hair once or twice a week - this is me moments before a shampoo.

      One of my favorite features in my bathroom is the glitched-out pattern of tile on the wall. I imagine that the person responsible was probably shooting for a uniform pattern but somewhere along the way, things sort-of went pleasantly amok.

GRN HERR

      Got some emerald green hair going on this fall! OO-DE-LALLY. I can't take any credit for this coif - my stylist is an amazing colorist and a very intuitive person who is expert at taking vague cues like: emeralds and jewels stuck to a sleeping dragon's belly and turning them into something like this.

      Are you considering wearing jewel-toned hair? Go for it, friends and pals! Because, why not? I think you'd look lovely in Lapis Lazuli. It's like Queen Ru Paul says:

"When you become the image of your own imagination, it's the most powerful thing you could ever do." 

Color achieved in two steps using the Aveda color system: first, bleached out to a very pale yellow and then dyed back to a deep luster with Pure Tone green with a touch of blue.

      Every season, T Magazine captures fascinating transformations of naked-faced models into aesthetic beauties in a feature they call "Model-Morposis".  What is most enthralling to me is the interface of the two before and after photographs; you move a slider bar across the images to reveal the fascinatingly beautiful work of amazing makeup and hair artists.
